Mistaken Behaviour

“All behaviour is purposeful” … A quote from Adler, a well-known child psychologist.   If we believe that children show behaviours for a purpose, then we need to examine the purposes they may have behind the behaviours they demonstrate.

In this workshop, participants will learn why we should take the term ‘misbehaviour’  out of our vocabulary, and learn how to better understand the “why” of children’s behaviours.  A variety of techniques for behaviour management will be examined using scenarios to give participants clearer understanding of some of the more typical behaviour situations that parents and educators encounter.

Participants will leave with a better understanding of children, motivations for their behaviours, and successful techniques to implement in their work with children that encourage positive behaviours.
